The state of Virginia carries out inspections periodically and assigns violations in categories like core, foundation, priority, critical, and non-critical based on their findings. Virginia does not assign a single grade or numerical score. The letter grades and scores in the main list in this application are provided for comparison purposes only. The What The Health application assigns point values to each category and adds up the total violations and subtracts the total from 100. The number and type of violations are visible in the report section of the app.
